As part of our continued growth, we’re hiring a Research Manager – Social Content Development to be responsible for implementing end-to-end marketing research support across a broad range of clients and specialties (foundational knowledge, innovations, communications assessment, tracking, etc.) as part of a new program with a global social media partner.  This individual will be responsible for bridging between Suzy and social media giants for creator engagement and in-depth research initiatives.   

 

This will include consulting with social media partners, client (brands) and internal success team on study scope and design and will also include programming, downloading and analyzing data.  Synthesizing findings into high quality reporting and actionable insights/recommendations is a critical part of the role as well.   You will work hand in hand with the broader Suzy team to ensure we are delivering long-term value to our clients and partners and continue to play an integral role in the success of major brands. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead strategic, yet agile research focused on foundational category exploration, brand perceptions, communities and trends to drive Social Media Content & Marketing.  There will be an emphasis on creators, users, social media data and trends; seeking to understand consumers’ attitudes & perceptions, conversation drivers, need states, underlying motivations, and how it all ties back to brand media campaign/content  development  
  • Lead research focused on brand/competitive social media fit, applicable trends  
  • Assist in compiling synopses of community and topical trends to help drive successful content and lead to syndicated research.  Conducting cultural trend and behavioral research, audience deep dives, genre studies, brand perception & health social audits, post-campaign reporting, among other research deliverables, to inform and optimize audience targeting, campaign creative and positioning, editorial creative and strategy, content development. 
  • Help stakeholders understand social conversations and online behaviors, informing creators, clients and media partners  
  • Partner with internal teams to help guide the development of internal insight tools and dashboards for client access 
  • Lead unique & custom brand/research efforts to provide strategic recommendations to answer clients’ critical business questions. 
  • Compile and analyze data & create PPT charts/presentations to summarize key findings and learnings from clients’ projects 
  • Execute work in a timely, efficient manner 
  • Execute fulfillment of internal job tracking and management systems 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent 
  • 5-8+ years’ experience working in custom market research, ideally all of part focusing on brand strategy, advertising as it applies to social media and marketing   
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, being proactive, possessing a great work ethic, and a positive attitude to embrace challenges are a must. 
  • Exemplifies out-of-the-box thinking in conducting and reporting all aspects of research 
  • Highly motivated with eagerness to learn, and possess a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to translate business questions into research questions. 
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate efficiently with cross-functional team members 
  • Experience and comfort with client-facing conversations, managing expectations, building client relationships, presenting findings and discussing business implications.  (Skills commensurate with experience) 
  • Experience developing strategic approaches to quantitative research, survey methodology, and questionnaire design 
  • Basic knowledge of market research techniques including Cross Tabulation, Segmentation, Driver Analysis, Brand Equity, etc. 
  • End-to-end primary research experience, including research scope, survey design, programming, sampling, fielding, data collection and quality assurance, data analysis, reporting, and presentation. 
  • Basic knowledge of market research data processing and analytics software including advanced expertise with Excel 
  • Working knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS, R, or Q Research Software. 
  • Working knowledge of survey programming tools, such as SurveyMonkey and/or Qualtrics, etc. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a strong client service orientation. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to translate research results into business implications
